Evaluation.

To evaluate this project, i did really enjoy making these set ups and taking photos in the studio. I appreciated it when we got to use all the professional equipment and enjoyed the quick results with photography.
To explore and experiment, I used  a sync lead, product table, hot shoot, snoot light and a soft box. I used different surfaces to shoot of also such as a product table, metal sheets and just white surface.
My research gave me the inspiration to start this project. I heard about  Penelope Umbrico in a lecture and thought the layout of her work would fit great with my money idea. I liked that fact she had used ready-mades but made them her own by the presentation. Instead of completely going off her idea i decided to use my own pictures and use quite a few different layouts and set-ups.
To present my final pieces i would love them to be presented on a wooden background with aryclic running over the top to frame it and use old rusty bolts to hold it together. I  would like this because that is just how i see them being best presented, I work with different textures and materials and combining them together just makes a project harmonize for me. framing it with acrylic instead of glass makes it more durable and wearable, its not as delicate and doesn't always stay presteen which means it can make its own aging trademarks with time passed, just like money does.
The context of my work is between photojournalism and editorial. My work does come wits  arise as I've only just found out your not really meant to photograph money and i know the risks but I've don't this work now and i can't change it. A TV program me i would aspire to be on would be channel fours  Dispatches, they talk about risky subjects and document everyday things. My work would also fit in with being descaled in a newspaper article or magazine such as a finance paper or the Art Review magazine.
The one thing I didn't feel very confident in with this project is that my work didn't really turn out how i would of liked and i had a different vision in my head where they would be all the same kind of photo and then have different way of presenting them, different positions, colours and layout and then all aliened together to make new hole piece. But after doing my photo shoots some of the photos just didn't work together, either because of the size, or because some were portrait and landscape. In the end some of my final photos looked great on their own and so i just choose to keep them as singles.

I wanted this project o be a kind of assemblage of photos but some of the photos I've taken i feel can hold their own and be presented just as one. This is one of the ones i think looks great on it own. i live the ring of light around the bottom of the glass and the way the light has hit the glass and created different blobs of light around the glass. The note in the glass remains crisp and clean and so does the cloth. I love the different shading through the note and how it just disappears in the darkness at the bottom.

This is another one because of the color of the note reflection of the mirrored surface. i love the blurred curve of some of the note. The darkness of the glass frame against the blue and the light piercing throughout the note and magnifying glass.

I love this picture because the detail in the notes is highlighted and then there are some shadows that dance through the cracks of the notes, the surface of the picture and throughout the light bits in the note. I love how there is a depth of field in the=is picture and like the note is almost coming out of the picture, i love the contrast in the blurred bits and clarity of other parts of the photo.

This was about experimenting with the raw materials and the light provided to get different atmospheres and looks. To do this i used a sync lead, product table, hot shoot, snoot light and a soft box.
There was so much fiddling to get certain lights, shows and reflections that we had to try and capture. I still wanted the pictures to look clear throughout all of this experimenting so thats what i had in my mind throughout.
I love some of the final outcomes and the whole process of this project, I'm not a camera head  but i do like the fact you can get an instant result in a matter of hours. You can also get the process of your work easily. I feel i have for filled my project brief and what i wanted to achieve throughout this project and have some great results that i can start to assemble into my final rice for this project.

Ive tried to make a series of each category of photograph, but it doesn't look that amazing because haven't got enough photographs of each one so the plan is....do a new photoshoot maybe one or two a week to get enough photos to do four series of photographs with cash.
I plan to make them a little lighter and clearer to see by using the same lamp (honeycomb lamp) but jus put it on a higher setting. i will still be using the sync lead  and hot shoe adapter to create the flash again and just make them more energetic and lively.

These are some contact sheets of the photoshoot i did using money. I wanted to capture it in a different light, and with  little depth in it. I don't like all of these but my faveriout set of photos are the ones with the lens, were they're really zoomed in, i like the fact it has distorted some of the photos and that some are really detailed, i also like the set up of the note hiding and just peeping through this zip in the page, i think it makes the note look quite mischievous and sneaky which resembles how the pound is at the moment.

I chose this photo as one of the top, because its so clear and has distorted it a little bit, the queens head that is shown is one that you sometimes cannot see without light with the human eye.

This photo was chosen because i like how I've made it look distorted. I love the fact you can see what I'm using, the separate lens.

This one was chosen because i love the range of colors in it, the repetition in t and th kind of collage look it brings. I didn't want the notes all to be perfectly alined and seamless, i wanted you to see the raw texture of the notes, the scatty edges and the washed out colour.

I love this one because its like the note is hiding behind this wall of darkness just like the currentcy of britian is today, like we have to seek ou money these days, like it just doesn't exist. Its adder to see your money these days... know what i mean?

This is a great one because of the colur of the notes,   i love the reflection in the metal on the foorgroud o the picture and the crispness of the black card.

This was chosen based on the sharpness of the photograph and in the back group the background there is like this reflection of both metals that creates this lights that carries right throughou the photo.

To create these photographs i used a honeycomb lamp, sync lead, hot shoe adapter, everyone's money (including Neil) and various sheets of metal (reflective surface) and papers/cards.

Im not quite sure if they would look great in a series of photographs or weather i will just like them as one on their own. Plan is to investigate put them onto contact sheets and see what they look like all together.
